Joachim Weimann is full professor at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and holds the chair for economic policy.
His basic research interest is the behavioral foundations of economic decisions. On the more applied side of his research, he works in the fields of environmental economics, labour markets and social security systems. He is scientific director of the laboratory for economic experiments Magdeburg (MaXLab) and a member of the National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech). He received his economic education at the universities of Bielefeld and Dortmund.
