Student assistant (f/m) for 40 hours a month

The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) – Member of the Leibniz Association is seeking to hire a student assistant (f/m) for 40 hours a month (starting December 1st, 2017) to support the research group “Dynamic Discrete Choices of Individuals” in the Financial Markets department. The contract will initially be limited to six months, but an extension is possible.

Deadline: October 30, 2017


  • preparation of microeconomic data on real estate markets and household finance
  • support in empirical analyses using Stata

Qualifications and requirements

  • secure handling of MS-Office applications, especially MS-Excel
  • basic experience in the application of statistics and econometrics software, particularly Stata
  • entry level experience in Python
  • basic skills in finance, microeconomics and econometric methods are an advantage
  • fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • great care in handling records
