The inaugural FLAME workshop took place in June 2025. Since then, FLAME has been held annually, bringing together researchers from leading institutions in North America and Europe to present and discuss work on key questions in labour economics. Contributions have addressed, among other topics, the effects of minimum wages, unionisation, skill formation, firms’ wage-setting practices, and firms’ adjustment to changing economic conditions. While the workshop is firmly grounded in rigorous frontier research, the discussions also highlight the contribution labour economics can make to addressing some of the most pressing economic and social challenges of our time.
