2019-08: PhD Position (Doctoral Researcher) (f/m/x, 75%)

To conduct an EU co-financed research project, the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) – Member of the Leibniz Association is offering a PhD Position (Doctoral Researcher) (f/m/x, 75%) assigned to the Centre for Evidence-based Policy Advice (IWH-CEP), starting as soon as possible. The contract will be limited to three years, an extension by one year is possible. The place of employment is Halle (Saale).

You will contribute to the project “Establishing Evidence-based Evaluation Methods for Subsidy Programs in Germany” (funded by the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund – ERDF) and become part of a dynamic team of economists regularly publishing its work in renowned international journals. Your profile/Your motivation

You hold a high-quality master degree in economics or related fields and have very good knowledge of applied micro-econometrics, experience in the analysis of microdata as well as in dealing with corresponding statistical software (e.g. Stata). You are interested in questions of impact research and have the ability to present complex facts concisely and target group oriented in English. Your working methods are self-responsible and structured. Organisational talent, social competence as well as project and team orientation round off your profile. You are open to get in touch with the national and international scientific community and to cooperate with other IWH researchers. Participation in the IWH Doctoral Programme in Economics (IWH-DPE) and the Central-German Doctoral Program in Economics (CGDE), which IWH organises jointly with neighboring universities, is obligatory.
