Courses
Courses are organised in coordination with partner institutions within the Central-German Doctoral Program Economics (CGDE) network. IWH organises First-Year Courses in the fields of Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Econometrics that are taught on a bi-weekly basis during the semester. Within the Special Courses internationally renowned researchers provide an overview of their respective fields of research.
Foundation courses
Three block core courses in Econometrics, Macro- and Microeconomics.
Topic Tracks
Choose from one of the following specializations, each comprising four courses:
- Macro & Productivity
- Labour & Behaviour
- Banking & Finance
Possibility to substitute up to two courses with external summer schools, courses, and other educational offers in coordination with HoD and HoDPE.
Skill Courses
Courses in Methods, Writing, Data Analysis, and Presentation to support research and communication skills. Personal Qualification Workshops strengthen the skills of academic writing and paper presentation. Further personal qualification workshops are offered by InGrA.
