As there is only very limited parking space available in the town center, we recommend using public transport.
How to reach us:
Coming from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), it takes around 1.5 hours to travel to Halle. First, you will need to get from BER to Berlin Südkreuz station (by taxi or public transport), which takes approximately 10–15 minutes. From there, trains to Halle (Saale) run regularly (though not overnight) and take about one hour. You can check train connections and book tickets here: https://int.bahn.de/en.
It is best to book your journey as “Airport BER ↔ Halle (Saale),” as this includes the transfer to Berlin Südkreuz station. When booking in advance, we recommend choosing the “Flexpreis” option, which allows you to take any train on the selected day in case of flight delays. While trains are generally reliable and a very convenient way to travel across Germany, occasional delays can occur. For your return trip, we therefore recommend allowing a generous time buffer to avoid missing your flight.
From Leipzig/Halle airport (LEJ) trains offer the quickest link to Halle central station; the journey takes about 15 minutes. From Halle (Saale) central station you can reach IWH by taking tram 7 (toward Kröllwitz) to Marktplatz, or on foot via Leipziger Straße pedestrian zone (about 15 minutes).
