4th IWH/INFER Workshop on Applied Economics and Economic Policy: A New Fiscal Capacity for the EU?

The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) and the International Network for Economic Research (INFER) were organising a workshop on risk spillover, current challenges for sustainable fiscal policy, and evaluations of pan-European transfers.

The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) and the International Network for Economic Research (INFER) organised a joint Workshop on Applied Economics and Economic Policy on March 17th and 18th, 2014 to be held in Halle (Saale).

The workshop provided a platform to discuss applied economic research. We invited empirical and theoretical contributions from all fields of macroeconomics and international
economics with an emphasis on a high relevance for economic policy.

  • Helge Berger (IMF and FU Berlin)

The special topic of the workshop has been A New Fiscal Capacity for the EU. Contributions on risk spillover, current challenges for sustainable fiscal policy and evaluations of pan-European transfers were highly welcomed.

Abstract

Am 17. und 18. März 2014 fand am IWH in Zusammenarbeit mit dem International Network for Economic Research (INFER) der 4. Workshop „Applied Economics and Economic Policy“ statt. Im Rahmen des Workshops stellten Wissenschaftler europäischer Universitäten und internationaler Organisationen ihre neuesten Forschungsergebnisse zu aktuellen ökonomischen Fragen und Problemen vor. Dabei war es nicht nur Ziel der Veranstaltung, aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse vorzustellen, sondern auch mit Vertretern aus Wissenschaft und Praxis über die aktuelle Wirtschaftspolitik und das Spezialthema „A New Fiscal Capacity for the EU?“ zu diskutieren.
